RESEARCH POSTER COMPETITION

Jointly organized by ASME UAE Section, AM Conclave 2025, and ADMAT Expo

POTENTIAL TOPICS:

  1. Additive Manufacturing & 3D Printing: Innovations in metal, polymer, or composite 3D printing, multi-material and hybrid additive manufacturing, post-processing techniques and mechanical performance, Applications in aerospace, automotive, healthcare, and construction.

  2. Advanced Materials & Composites: Development of high-performance composites, Sustainable and bio-based materials, Nanomaterials and functional coatings, Lightweight materials for structural applications.

  3. Mechanical & Industrial Engineering: Robotics and automation for manufacturing, Process optimization and industrial IoT, Smart manufacturing and digital twins, Reliability, durability, and fatigue analysis of engineered components.

  4. Energy & Sustainability: Energy-efficient manufacturing processes, Recycling and circular economy in materials, Renewable energy materials and devices.

  5. Emerging Technologies & Innovation: AI/ML applications in manufacturing and design, Simulation, modeling, and computational mechanics, Sensors and instrumentation for industrial applications, Innovations in product design and prototyping.

  6. Interdisciplinary & Future Technologies: Biomedical engineering and personalized devices, Aerospace materials and structures, Advanced coatings, surface engineering, and tribology, Smart structures and adaptive materials.
Eligibility

To be eligible to display/ present a poster, the presenting author must have completed the research presented on the poster while seeking a degree at a university (in the UAE) at an undergraduate (Bachelor’s) or graduate level (Master’s or PhD). The degree seeking student must be the one that presents the poster. Poster authors are given dedicated time (3 – 5 mins) to present their work to a panel of judges.

Judgement

For the poster competition, presentations and posters are judged based on:

  • Clear motivation for the research (Background)
  • Appropriate selection and justification of methods (Methodology)
  • Logical and clearly stated research outcomes (Results)
  • Meaningfully interpreted and presented results (Discussion)
  • Concise remarks that address the problem presented (Conclusions)
  • Well-structured and easy to understand poster (Organization)
  • Engaging presentation with appropriate technical detail (Communication)
  • Excellent use of visuals and colors (Visual appeal)

POSTER TEMPLATE & PREPARATION:
  • Sample poster template will be provided. The size is 35 in x 48 in, and you can modify sections as you like.
  • Pre-mount your poster on foam core for display.

ATTENDANCE AT THE POSTER:

For papers with multiple authors, only one author needs to be present during the session, but co-authors can be present. If authors are unable to be present at their booth during the time assigned, they should arrange for their booth to be staffed by a person familiar with their work. If an author has more than one paper in the poster session, it is the author’s responsibility to pre-arrange staffing of each poster.

MOUNTING AND REMOVAL OF POSTER :

The authors are to arrive at least one-half hour before the poster session starts. Carefully arrange your posters beforehand; 15 minutes should be ample time to mount your poster. It is the author’s responsibility to remove their poster and clean the area before they leave.

AWARDS & RECOGNITION

We are excited to share that this year, the winners (1st, 2nd & 3rd) will receive Certificates of Recognition from the ASME UAE Section, to the best research posters.
