Regional Additive Manufacturing Manager
Vallourec Asia Pacific Singapore
Jithin Mathew, is the Regional Additive Manufacturing Manager at Vallourec Asia Pacific Singapore. Vallourec is a world leader in premium tubular solutions, with over 100 years of active presence in the Oil &Gas industry. They understand the huge potential of AM and has embraced WAAM to improve the future of metallic component value chain for O&G market. Vallourec have their pioneer WAAM machine fully dedicated to end user part production located within their facility at 6, Marsiling Lane Singapore. Jithin takes care of the regional WAAM production operations, including supply chain.
Jithin possesses over 16years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry. For a major part of his career he was involved in the design and manufacturing of Well Completion Systems at TechnipFMC and GE Oil & Gas. He holds a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from National University of Singapore. Since 2018, with a keen interest in new technologies, Jithin has been actively involved in developing opportunities to support the Additive Manufacturing adoption in Singapore. His passion for AM also led him to attain an Advanced degree in Additive manufacturing.
Additive manufacturing has been adopted for the manufacturing of complex shaped metallic parts by various industry sectors. However, the rate of adoption has been quite slow for the Oil & Gas and Marine segments. This talk on “WAAM for On-demand manufacturing of Oil & Gas parts” aims to present a few case studies where WAAM was put into use to produce parts that offered better lead times, superior quality or cost savings.
